COURSE DESCRIPTION
@ 16:00 – 20:00 GMT+2
Botulinum toxin, for facial aesthetics, has become number one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide. Botox is a protein made from botulinum toxin that the bacterium Clostridium botulinum produces, and this is the same toxin that causes botulism, but when people use it correctly and in small doses, it has a number of medical and cosmetic uses. Botox injections are probably best known for reducing skin wrinkles and can also help treat crossed eyes, eyelid spasms, excessive sweating, and some bladder disorders. It is also very useful for treating bruxism and in combination with night guards will ease the symptoms of it. There are many commercial versions of Botulinum toxin such as: Botox (onabotulinumtoxin A), Dysport (abobotulinumtoxin A), Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxin A), Myobloc (rimabotulinumtoxin B) and Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxin A).
People use the term Botox interchangeably for these various products, though “Botox” is the registered trademark of Allergan Inc. The primary use of Botox is reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles. The effects of Botox are temporary, lasting 3-12months, depending on the treatments. Common facial areas people use Botox on include: frown lines, wrinkles around the eyes, horizontal creases in the forehead, lines at the corners of the mouth and “cobblestone” skin on the chin. Botox injections are generally well tolerated , and side effects are not common.
After completion of this course, about cosmetic uses of botulinum toxins, you will have learned the mechanism of action, injection techniques , complication management and will be able to start practicing facial aesthetics with confidence and success increasing your reputation and income in your clinic.
The course will be held by the inventor of CLEOPATRA TECHNIQUE TM, leading expert in facial aesthetics, Professor Cleopatra Nacopoulos and Dr. Anna-Maria Vesala, Oral surgeon.
